This sounds really interesting. This might be the thing. I was talking with my old CE professor last week about church redevelopments, and he said that redevelopments don't have great success rates, but the ones that have done well, have closed down completely, dissolved the session, and released the staff, then reopened 3 months to a week later in the same location as a totally new entity. It's sort of like what you are talking about. A new entity in the old building.

This is sort of what I'm talking about, but it's also kind of an NCD within an existing structure. The idea is to keep some continuity for long time members, while also creating something new.
